About

My name is Anne and I’m on the verge of turning 26 this April. I’m not really looking forward to entering the next ‘quarter’ of my life mainly because I feel that I’m not quite done with being 25.

I am currently living in Ushibuka City (牛深市) a small town south of Kumamoto prefecture (熊本). My life took an interesting turn 8 months back when I got accepted into the JET programme (Japan Exchange Teaching). Requesting to be placed in a ‘city’, my request was granted albeit with the definition of ‘city’ becoming rather mangled. However, I came and fell in love with the ample amount of coastline and mountains that Ushibuka and its surrounding islands offered. I thought to stay a year, but now, I’ve signed on for another.

I’m someone who …

*strives to think of life in the positive. Whilst not always successful, I can only try.
*believes in realizing one’s dream
*value relationships but I am terrible at choosing birthday presents.
*is terribly shy, but friends beg to defer
*likes to stay honest, but let’s face it, truth has many faces to it.
*really envy ‘Perpetually Happy People’ (PHP) – I just don’t get how they do it
*likes the words ‘serendipitious’, ‘kaleidoscope’, ‘providence’ in no particular order
*dreams of leading a life less-ordinary
*loves teaching in a classroom
